Our Outreach Team programs at Gloria Dei consist of our Generosity USA fundraising, Gloria Dei Food Pantry, donations to various local organizations, neighboring schools, donations to Metro Lutheran Ministries (MLM) and donations to the Gathering Table.

Gloria Dei Outreach Programs
Charity Golf Scramble
Through fundraising efforts, each year, at the end of August, Generosity USA hosts a Charity Golf Scramble event at The Deuce Golf Club located off of Tom Watson Parkway in Parkville. Any guests or members at Gloria Dei can sign up to participate in this fun daytime tournament, where they can play 18 holes of golf with their friends and compete for amazing prizes.
Gloria Dei Food Pantry
The tournament Charity Golf Scramble fundraising goes to our Gloria Dei Food Pantry. The Food Pantry opens its doors to those in Platte County and Clay County who need food. The money raised from the golf tournament helps to bring much-needed food items to our church for these food drives. Whether non-perishable items or fresh produce, we give our time and efforts to those in our community who need it most.
Our doors are open at 7:00 -9:00 AM on each month’s 1st and 3rd Saturdays. Curbside drive-thru only! For more information on our Food Pantry, contact the church office at 741-3150.
Non-Perishable Food Donations Accepted
Calling all of our neighbors:
If you have extra non-perishable food/canned goods/household items or would like to purchase some to donate, we use them for our Food Pantry.
Please drop them off at the Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, 5409 NW 72nd St, Kansas City, MO, between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m.
Your generosity is greatly appreciated.

Metro Lutheran Ministries (MLM)
MLM is a coalition of 50 KC Metro Lutheran congregations enabling low income people to meet basic needs, recover self-sufficiency and regain hope. The MLM program provides support for individuals in need of financial and personal assistance. Here are some of the ways that the MLM program can help out people in the KC metropolitan area:
- MLM provides millions of pounds of food to be given to those in need each year.
- Food and hot-breakfast programs are offered each week.
- Grace Homes for people who are chronically mentally ill and chronically homeless.
- Permanent housing for hundreds of homeless families.
- Employment help through the Chael/Dykman Education Center.

The Gathering Table
Gloria Dei gathers items for the clothing closet to be given to individuals and families in need. If you want to donate to our clothing closet, place the items in the donation bins outside the church office.
All garment donations are given to The Gathering Table at 5001 Independence Avenue, Kansas City, MO 64124.
Outreach Ministry Team
Outreach Ministry gives monetary and needed items to support the following: MLM’s Annual Feed the Hungry Drive, Hollis Renewal Center, lunches for school children, Easter Seals, Hollis Summer Camp, monthly lunches at The Gathering Table (formerly Children’s Memorial Lutheran Church), Equal Start’s Back to School Fair, Gloria Dei Food Assistance Program, Park Hill Clothing Store, “Fill A Sack and Bring It Back” food drive, MLM’s Blanket Drive, holiday meals at The Gathering Table, taking snacks to Chinn Elementary as needed, MLM’s Christmas Store and facilitate Food Pantry Drives as needed.
